Georgia receiver George Pickens could see his first action of the season on Saturday at Georgia Tech, based on what a source close to the team believes and the direction this has been heading. Pickens, a preseason All-SEC pick, has been sidelined by a torn ACL he suffered in March.

The team has not confirmed that Pickens is cleared to play. As of Tuesday night, head coach Kirby Smart said Pickens had yet to be cleared but that left time for it to happen between then and Saturday.

Smart did say that Pickens was taking snaps with the second and third teams during practice in an effort to “integrate” himself in the event he was cleared. That was an indication Pickens was close and moving in the direction of playing.

Like any player returning from injury, it's risky to say Pickens is certain to play until he actually takes the field. That could be the plan and then something doesn't feel right during warmups. Pickens could also be cleared and not play, like JT Daniels last season who was cleared in week 2 but didn't play until Georgia's seventh game.
